All Pieces Getaway

Hi guys! I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted – my main priority has been spending time with my daughter, who is growing up quickly (I can’t believe she just turned 9 months)! This weekend, we decided to go on a little getaway so that she could experience her first glamping trip.



Getaway House was kind enough to host us and we went to the Cleveland-Pittsburgh location. Let me just say it was better than I expected! We drove in to what looked like a small community – a lot of 36 generously spaced out cabins in the middle of the woods. We walked into a quaint and cozy cabin fully quipped with running water, full bathroom, and heater. Also, it was comforting to know there was a telephone land line in the cabin just in case there was an emergency; there’s limited cell service available in the woods.




The kitchen was stocked with provisions and kitchenware + bbq utensils. Getaway also provides firewood and a kindling log (for an additional fee) – it was very convenient for us, since we didn’t want to bring this with us).



Before dinner, we went on a short hike along a small creek near the cabins – a place ideal for a picnic in the warmer seasons. Right outside the cabin they provide a fire pit, picnic table, and a pair of adirondack chairs. Needless to say we took advantage by grilling bleu cheese burgers and roasting marshmallows for s’mores.




The best part about the cabin was the amazing view! With a floor to ceiling window next to our bed, you get a feeling of being close to nature. Avery loved just sitting there watching the sunshine peaking through and the trees dancing in the wind.
