I've said it before and I'll say it again - is there anything better than fall?! Not only is it filled with pumpkin spice and everything nice, but the air is crispier and cooler. The latter also makes it bearable to wear the layered and traditional professional attire for work. I use the word 'traditional' loosely, because I refuse to wear a suit to work unless it's an important meeting, nonetheless, cooler climates make wearing wool fabrics more comfortable.

My go to wear-to-work attire has always been a sweater blazer and pencil skirt for obvious reasons [for me at least], the first being that it's better to wear a soft threaded third piece than it is to wear a stiff blazer for forty hours a week. The second, because of flattery and femininity.  A pencil skirt elongates my torso and legs, making any petite appear taller. Skirts are also just so darn feminine chic paired with black patent pumps and accentuates a woman's curves.

My sweater blazer comes in three different colors - Heather Camel, Heather Grey, and Navy. It does run big, I usually wear an XXS, but opted for the XS because I plan on layering sweaters and button ups underneath for the upcoming winter. The sleeves do run long, but not an issue  since they can easily be rolled up or folded to create cuffs.

I am in love with this pencil skirt. Heather colors are my absolute favorite and the gray of this matches everything. It comes in a plethora of vibrant colors - Burgundy, Begonia, Dusk, Camel, and Black. Definitely a staple piece in any career girl's closet. You can do so much with it - pair with a puffer vest, leather belt, and wellies or a cardigan and flats. It's true to size and depending how high you wear your bottoms, it hits right above the knees. The fabric is double-serge wool making it top quality similar to how suits are made.

Just a reminder - the linked pieces are all 40% off with no code needed. Get to shopping, because sizes run out fast.

  1. Skirts are my favorite for work too! They're the perfect way to look feminine! <3 :) And oh, linen / cotton blazers are definitely a great alternative!
